About The Non-Typical Ranch

The love for the sport of hunting is something Kevin, Kara and the entire Love family have a common passion for. Their goal is to simply produce the biggest deer in Texas while providing a hunting experience for our clients that is second to none. That goal is overwhelmingly obvious from the moment you enter the gate.

Wildlife Manager, Derrick Garnett, has a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management from Stephen F. Austin State University and oversees all activities on and related to the ranch.

A couple like no other, Monty and Traci Carnell are the best in the business at rearing bottle raised fawns. With years of experience and a compassion like no other we are blessed to have the on our team.

Our newest recruit, Justin Parker, comes to us with several years of valuable experience from ranches around the state. He received his master's degree from Tarleton State University in Agriculture with a range wildlife emphasis and brings great depth to the raising and care of our whitetails.

A true family tradition, The Non-Typical Ranch is a deer hunters dream home away from home when the fall season rolls through these deer woods just south of Abilene, Texas.
